Student Welfare

Student Welfare

At Bondi Beach Public School we have recently updated our Student Welfare Policy and Non–Bullying Policy. Our school uses a Rights and Responsibilities approach to school rules. They reflect our community’s values of fairness, safety, care and respect. The values are expressed as ‘rights’ which have associated responsibilities to protect them.

Recognition for positive behaviours is given through Merit awards given at assembly each week. The school also has a Values Education and Resilience program which is taught from Kindergarten to Year Six. This program explicitly teaches students values for life. Students who demonstrate these values are rewarded by improvement in their own behaviour as well as a values award at assembly.

The school takes a serious approach to reporting bullying behaviour and staff provide support for all students involved to ensure we have a safe and caring school environment.

Our Discipline Policy reflects our Rights and Responsibilities. Students are encouraged to consider their responsibilities in the classroom and playground. Students who are repeatedly involved in inappropriate behaviour are given time to think about their behaviour, followed by a support desk activity if necessary. Parents are contacted if their child's behaviour is unacceptable.
